📚 🐷Yesterday, Mrs. Sheffer's students exercised their democratic rights in a nail-biting election! The burning question on everyone's minds: "Which book character would make the best president?"
And the results are in…
🏆 Piggie wins by a snout! 🐽With a whopping 14 votes, it looks like Piggie will be oinking orders from the Oval Office! We're not sure what Piggie's first executive order will be, but we're hoping for longer recess and more story time! 📖⏰ #learningatlpe

Pumpkin Investigations
First grade discovery students reached into a mystery box to see that they were going to investigate pumpkins! They drew a picture of their pumpkin, described it, measured it using paper clips and a ruler and then made a scientific guess on if it would sink or float. They then drew it as if they carved it into a 🎃 jack-o’-lantern. Do you know if pumpkins sink or float? Try it out! #learningatlpe

🎃Mrs. Rackley's class has thoroughly enjoyed learning about pumpkins and reading various fiction and nonfiction books about pumpkins. As a special activity, they even got to paint individual pumpkins and carve a class pumpkin together! #learningatlpe

Mrs. McRae’s class had a great time during their class glowing party. They enjoyed glow games like tic tac toe and cup stacking. They also enjoyed learning about pumpkins during pumpkin day last Friday. They learned all about pumpkin parts, conducted an experiment, and learned through hands on activities. #learningatlpe

📚🥣 History Comes to Life in 5th Grade! Our 5th graders took a journey back in time to the Great Depression era! They learned about soup kitchens, which were vital lifelines during a time of widespread unemployment and hunger.
To bring history off the pages, they created their our very own LPE Soup Kitchen! Students experienced firsthand what it might have felt like to rely on a single bowl of chicken noodle soup for sustenance.
This immersive lesson helped our students:
• Understand the challenges faced during the 1930s
• Reflect on the importance of community support
• Appreciate the value of a warm meal
It was a powerful way to make history tangible and foster empathy. #learningatlpe
