Lowndes Middle School

Due to the threat of inclement weather and Governor Kemp issuing Georgia as a State of Emergency, all Lowndes County Schools and system offices will close on Monday. All Open Houses will be postponed. Elementary, Journey, and Middle School Open Houses will be moved to Tuesday at the same time previously scheduled. Lowndes High School Ignite will be a drop-in event for 9th graders and new students on Tuesday from 3:30 - 5:30 pm. The Lowndes County School Board Meeting will be moved from Monday at 6 pm to Tuesday at 6 pm. All schedule changes will be posted on our social media for your convenience. We are in constant contact with Lowndes County Emergency Management and local officials. Please follow Lowndes EMA on social media for ongoing updates. We will monitor weather conditions and the impact in our area and notify you promptly if any other schedule changes occur. As always, the safety of our staff and students is our top priority. We urge everyone to use caution and be safe. We look forward to seeing our students Tuesday at Open House and Ignite and on Wednesday when school is back in session!

Volleyball practice scheduled for July 29th has been canceled due to gym floor reconstruction. Practice will resume on Wednesday, July 31st, from 3:15 PM to 4:45 PM. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to Coach Meek or Coach Henderson.

Today is the last day of the summer program! We are ending it with a field trip to the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. Students who didn't go on the field trip also have a surprise. We are going to the movies and lunch at the mall. We made it! #21stCCLC #BGC #summerlearning

Project Vision's Summer Program students are embarking on a trip to Silver Springs State Park in Florida. During their visit, they'll enjoy a fascinating glass-bottom boat tour, where they'll learn about the diverse plant and animal species inhabiting the park. 🌿🌊 #21stcclc #BGC #summerlearningfun

Project Vision is on the road again this morning. Summer program scholars will experience a tour of our founding city, Savannah, Georgia. Students will visit several attractions such as the First African Baptist Church, Massie Heritage School, and The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist. Scholars will end their day with a walk on River Street. #BGC #21stCCLC
